What is the Role of a Temperature Sensor in a Car?

Many people know the temperature sensor, but when buying a car, many people don't know what a car temperature sensor is or what the car temperature sensor is for. So what is a car temperature sensor?

Ⅰ. Basic knowledge of temperature sensor

To put it simply, a temperature sensor is a sensor that measures temperature. A temperature sensor refers to a sensor that can sense temperature and convert it into a usable output signal;

Temperature sensor is the core component of temperature measuring instrument. There are many temperature transducer types. According to the measurement method, it can be divided into two types: contact type and non-contact type;

According to the characteristics of motor temp sensor materials and electronic components, it is divided into thermal resistance and thermocouple. Temperature sensors are divided into multiple types. Therefore, different types of temperature sensors have different working principles. So what exactly is a car temperature sensor? A car temperature sensor is also called an ambient temperature sensor, which is a sensing element in an automatic air-conditioning control system.

Ⅱ. What is the role of automobile temperature sensor?

The location of the automobile temperature sensor is generally installed on the front bumper mounting bracket, which is also a thermistor.

The role of automobile temperature sensor:

1. The car temperature sensor detects the height of the ambient temperature outside the car, and the control system will determine the control method according to the difference between the temperature outside the car and the temperature inside the car.

2. The car temperature sensor provides the ECU with a temperature signal outside the car cabin. The ECU compares this signal with the temperature signal inside the car to determine the temperature inside the car to meet the needs of the people inside the car. For example: in the situation of 5℃ outside the car and 30℃ inside the car, the temperature difference is too large, so the ECU must control the air conditioner to reduce the temperature inside the car to about 20 degrees. At this time, people will not feel too hot or too cold in the car.
